Birds in Flight have been historically difficult to capture, as their movements are so unpredictable. This first set of photos was taken with a with a Panasonic FZ-20 and Minolta ACT-100 TC attached. This next set of photos was taken with a using a Nikon D3 with a 1.7 teleconverter on an 70-200mm Nikon, f2.8 VR lens. He is generally shooting between f4.5 to f5.6 at shutter speeds of around 1/2000 to 13200 of a second and ISO of 800 to 1600. He uses a Red Dot scope (42mm) mounted on the Photosolve Extend-a-Sight mount.. They are shown here with the permission of the photographer, Bob Schmiedt, Northwestern Georgia.
