The table below will show you all the ring and thread converter products available from Photosolve.

means a step up ring is available from Photosolve. The smaller number (the "from" number) is the male side, and the larger ("to") number is the female side

means a step down ring is available. The larger number (the "from" number) is the male side, and the smaller ("to") number is the female side

means a thread converter is available. A flat thread converter provides the equivalent of a step down ring from a larger size thread to a smaller one, with no additional thickness or separation.

Where N/A is shown, it means that photosolve does not stock a single solution to the required size requirement (although it may be available from some other source). Very often you can combine various step down rings , step up rings , and thread converters , to get the proper size.

For example: You need a 62mm to 28mm step down

You can accomplish this by using the following three items:

  • 62mm to 49mm step down ring
  • 49mm to 37mm thread converter
  • 37mm to 28mm thread converter or 37 to 28 step down ring

It is important to minimize the "thickness" by using thread converters as often as possible as they do not have the thickness of a standard step down ring.

Note: Major stepping down is generally NOT recommended as it will result in serious vignetting, however there are times when it's appropriate...just be aware of the limitations.
