< The Xtend-a-View Pro family of viewers gets another model...The Pro 3.0 which covers 2.7" to 3.0" LCD's. Note that use on 2.7" LCD's is not fully tested at this point. The opening on the bottom of the viewer is specifically designed for the 3.0" LCD screen (65mm x 46mm), so there WILL be overlap when used on a 2.7" screen. | |

Even with the larger lens sizing, the Xtend-a-View Pro> 3.0 is compatible with the original eyecup and cover. To keep the selling cost a little less, the eycup/cover is optional on the 3.0 unit. Because of the deeper eye relief in the lens, the unit can be used with or without the eyecup/cover. If using the eyecup/cover arrangement, the same Capkeeper 2 (included) can be used to retain the cap.

To help you get a little better understanding of the Xtend-a-View Pro 3.0 sizing, this outline drawing shows the front, side and bottom views of the viewer. Note that the inside rectangle of the BOTTOM VIEW is the actual coverage area of the viewer (LCD) and the outside rectange of this same BOTTOM VIEW is the outside mounting area of the viewer. |
The Xtend-a-View Pro 3.0 is a bit different that the Mini, Standard Variable, and Wide Variable models. The design changes were necessary due to the large viewing area of a 3.0" LCD screen.
Design changes:
1. Larger, taller body MACHINED from high impact Delrin material (much costlier, but much lighter in weight - the unit actually weighs less than the Xtend-a-View Pro WIDE!)
2. Larger eyepiece (37mm v. 30mm on the smaller models - standard 37mm threads accept a standard 37mm lens cap - included).
The results are that the viewer provides full compatibility with 3.0" LCD's, with lighter weight, broader field coverage, and mounting either with Velcro, hand-held with lanyard strap, or by using the Xtend-a-Mount OMNI.
