Editorial independence
What we publish is decided by us, not by anyone paying for coverage. We do not run sponsored verdicts, and a manufacturer sending us something to look at buys a fair test, not a favorable one. Our reasoning and our testing conditions are described on the about page so you can judge the work on its merits rather than taking our word for it.
Affiliate and commercial links
Where we link to a product, some of those links may at times be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. When that is the case it never changes what we recommend or how we describe it. Many of the outbound links you will find here point to manufacturer documentation, reference material, and independent education rather than storefronts, simply because that is what supports the point being made.
How we handle data
The site uses standard web technologies. Like most websites it may set cookies and collect basic, aggregated analytics about which pages are read, which helps us understand what is useful and what is not. We do not sell personal information. Any contact you send us is used only to reply to you and is not passed on for marketing.

We link out often, because understanding a tool usually means reading beyond one article.
